AEMERA’s environmental monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities must meet the needs of a broad base of individuals and organizations. Through timely, effective and open discussion and interactions with stakeholders and the public, AEMERA will ensure it is asking the right questions and providing relevant and timely information on the condition of Alberta’s environment.

AEMERA works with a number of organizations on planning and delivery of environmental monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

Province-wide:

  • Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute (ABMI) (abmi.ca)

  • Alberta Environment and Parks (aep.alberta.ca)

Currently, AEMERA’s efforts are primarily focused on environmental monitoring, evaluation and reporting in the oil sands and the Lower Athabasca Region. Working partnerships underway, or in development, in this region involve:

  • Wood Buffalo Environmental Monitoring Association (WBEA) (wbea.org)

  • Lakeland Industry and Community Association (LICA) (lica.ca)

  • Environment Canada (ec.gc.ca)
